State College resident, Donna L. Litke devoted much of her time and personal resources in support of those battling cancer, and was devoted to the mission of the Bob Perks Cancer Assistance Fund (BPF). When she passed away in 2017, Donna generously included the BPF in her estate planning. To honor her memory and generosity, BPF allocated funds from the Donna Litke donation to establish a legacy fund, which provides periodic gifts to local hospitals for the purchase of equipment specifically designed to ease the cancer patient treatment experience.
In 2019, BPF purchased a much-needed patient water station for the Ellen and Lance Shaner Cancer Pavilion at Mount Nittany Medical Health Center in State College. In keeping with the focus of the Donna Litke fund, BPF just recently purchased two bariatric chairs for the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Altoona. This gift was quickly matched by UPMC Altoona Foundation, which provided a bariatric chair in each of the four treatment quads at Hillman. Donna’s legacy of supporting our cancer community will live on through these gifts to area treatment centers.
